Healthy desserts on a cookie cutter budget

Ever been tasked with wowing your friends and family at dessert time and wondered how to make something show-stoppingly great on a low budget?

Well mySupermarket have got a wonderful selection of delicious desserts you can make on any budget!

Dessert time can be a nightmare when you are focused on keeping yourself or maybe your guests on point with their healthy eating goals. After all, dessert is supposed to be tasty, fun and that part of the meal everyone looks forward to. Add in the double whammy of mass produced tastiness on a budget and it might start to get a little bit overwhelming.

Enter the cookie cutter!

Your friendly mySupermarket blogger recently had a bit too much free time and decided to get a bit creative in the kitchen.

Fruit can be so versatile and there are so many ways to display these fresh colourful wonders.

We tried slicing a watermelon and then attacking it with a star-shaped cookie cutter. Most average watermelon’s on mySupermarket cost £3 or under and with one melon providing enough snackage for 6-8 people, it is a great budget friendly way to serve dessert.

Take a peek at our attempt below.

We have another fruity and budget friendly trick up our sleeve too.

Put aside your cookie cutter and grab yourself an ice cube tray. We decided to get a bit fancy and use a heart shaped one, but any ice cube tray will do the trick!

Heart Ice

Get some sprinkles, we prefer the hundreds and thousands variety, and a bottle of fresh fruit juice. The combination of these ingredients also comes to less than £3 in most stores on mySupermarket.

We created enough dessert to feed at least 15 people, on a £6 budget! Plus we still had some leftovers to keep us out of trouble for a few more days too!
