Take Time to Unwind: Products and Lifestyle Tips to Help Parents Unwind

Waking up in the morning sometimes can be a headache, the thought of all the things you have to do that day, even if you are woken up with singing birds you still need a large push… I think you all know what I mean…

Do you remember those days when you thought ‘wouldn’t it be nice to just have a massage and then just like magic you would book a treatment at your local spa. Well, when you become a parent it’s harder to plan those days, even if you book in advance. What happens if your child is sick that day and your partner hasn’t got a clue what to do with a sick baby? Even if they did I’m not sure a lot of us would be trusting enough to them to leave them alone.

There are so many amazing products you can find online which can give you the same benefits as going to a spa.

A must after having children is a lovely scrub. This gets rid of all the dead skin and gives you a wonderful lift (which is what all mothers need!) The rest are also crucial in giving you the finishing touch- a bath oil, a face oil and to finish it off a lovely moisturiser. If you feel like creating something yourself then I’ll be more than happy to share my homemade recipe. All you need is an avocado, olive oil and honey, then add a little sugar or coffee grain and you have an amazing scrub. All these items can be easily ordered via mySupermarket.

I always make sure I have the following in my designated area in the bathroom when I need a little TLC. A must after children is a lovely scrub. And make sure you tell your partner no disturbances because you are taking time out for you. Pick a non-baby related book or magazine that you’ve been waiting to read, tidy your bathroom and organise your DIY treatment at home to make sure you treat it as if you’re out at a spa. Who said you can’t experience the same level of care in your home!? The great thing is that you can jump straight into bed and not have to think about getting in a car, looking after the kids or being confronted by loud noises on a bus or train (or even the kids).

It may seem like an indulgence, but you can find nail bars that charge £30 pounds for a mani pedi, including a hand and feet rub! Not only will you get a lovely massage and your tired feet will get a lovely makeover, but your battered hands (from all the cleaning and pushing you do with you kids) will look like yours again – or would I dare say BK (Before Kids)… Happy Mum Happy Life. Life will seem a little easier when you are taking time out for you! It’s not just a necessity – I would go as far as saying it’s compulsory.
